This map is part of series in support of breast cancer education, prevention, access to treatment, and research. The name reflects all things golden in California, including the burnt-amber bridge in San Francisco across which I walked with my sister-in-law during our 60-mile, 3-day fundraising trek in June of 2013. The pieces honor her mother, my grandmother, and all those affected by breast cancer…and represents our hope for a cure.
In this map of San Francisco, the top image is of the southern tip of Marin County at Horseshoe Bay and the northern portion of the Golden Gate Bridge. The middle map is of the southern piece of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Presidio. The final map is of Golden Gate Park and parts of the surrounding neighborhoods of Richmond, Haight-Ashbury, Cole Valley and the Sunset.
